#3 Joe Weider
Net Worth: $35 Million
Joe Weider and his lifelong efforts are credited with the universal understanding that a healthy lifestyle comes from exercise and a nutritionally balanced diet. After using a makeshift barbell (made of two flywheels and a train axel) to build muscle, he competed in his first amateur contest at 17 in 1937. For the rest of his life Weider encouraged athletes and coaches to forever alter their approach to training and nutrition.
In addition to co-founding the IFBB, Weider founded the Mr. Olympia (in 1965), Ms. Olympia (in 1978) and Masters Olympia (in 1994) bodybuilding contests. He published several notable fitness-related magazines and had a line of fitness equipment and diet supplements. He was also the one to encourage Arnold and Franco Columbu to come to America. Now that’s impact!
