#5 You’re not eating enough carbs with your protein
If you think building muscle is just about picking up heavy things and putting them down, you are dead wrong! Your diet is as important to your muscle growth as the time you spend in the gym. And, unfortunately for many of you, if your diet is off-base, you will not be seeing any gains.
The lesson:
Your muscles need protein and the best way to do that is mixing your protein with some complex carbs. Your muscles will absorb more protein when you eat or drink it with carbs. Consider this: Eat your chicken breast with brown rice or mix in some fruit in your protein shake.
Final thought:
You go to a personal trainer for advice on how to build muscle in the gym, don’t you? Of course you do. If you really want to get serious about this, you need to also talk to a nutritionist who can help you craft a meal plan that will help you build muscle even when you’re not in the gym. This doesn’t have to be complicated. Lean protein, complex carbohydrates, proper hydration with very little sugar, salt or snacking. That’s all that you need! Just be honest with yourself and results will follow.
