Hemp seeds (from the plant Cannabis sativa) have a bit of a “naughty” reputation, since the plant has some of the mild hallucinogenic THC, as can be found in a closely-related plant, marijuana, or cannabis.

(So much so, that growing hemp has been banned in the United States since 1937–a ban that was overturned only recently, in 2014!) But it actually has a negligible amount of THC–less than 0.3% of its volume, as opposed to marijuana, which varies between 5-35% THC.
Hemp is now permanently removed from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). It is forever deemed an agricultural commodity and is no longer mistaken for marijuana.
By redefining hemp to include its “extracts, cannabinoids and derivatives,” Congress has removed hemp products (such as CBD) from the CSA. (§ 297A). This means the DEA no longer has any possible claim to interfere with the interstate commerce of hemp products. (§ 10114)
Despite its reputation, hemp oil has formidable nutritional value:
- It contains 9 essential amino acids that the body can’t produce on its own and must obtain from a dietary source.
- It has a more favorable ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acids, as opposed to flaxseed oil. These acids can help diminish the signs of aging and improve heart health. They are also what makes hemp oil such a great moisturizer since omega-3 and omega-6 act in a similar manner as the skin’s natural lipids
- It contains antioxidants, which can have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits for the skin.
- Hemp seeds are considered one of the (if not the) best sources of plant-based protein.
Hemp Oil and Fitness
Whether you’re a long distance runner, rock climber, cross fit enthusiast, or want to run a faster 5k, chances are CBD Hemp Oil might help you meet your fitness goals.

One of the most widely known properties of CBD Hemp Oil is it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Veritas Farms CBD Hemp Oil helps to reduce inflammation, speed up recovery times, lower exercise induced inflammation responses, and help get you back up and running faster. It is more effective than fish oil and turmeric.

CBD Hemp Oil has been so effective for reducing stress and anxiety that some people are ditching their prescription medications for this safer alternative. Sleep is one of the most important aspects of recovery. Better sleep is one of the first things you’ll notice when using Veritas Farms CBD Hemp Oil.
Many endurance athletes struggle with nausea and gut issues. Not any more!! Veritas Farms CBD Hemp Oil interacts with your systems endocannabinoid system to help with gut issues, and serotonin receptors to help reduce nausea.
What Exactly is Veritas Farms Hemp Oil?
Veritas Farms’ Hemp Oil is made from all-natural compounds of the hemp plant. These compounds are known as cannabinoids. The human body produces cannabinoids naturally, known as endocannabinoids.
When our bodies are endocannabinoid deficient, plant-based cannabinoids (called phytocannabinoids) can be used to balance our body’s systems. When using plant-based cannabinoids, Full Spectrum Hemp Oil provides your body with many of the beneficial compounds found in hemp.
Veritas Farms Full Spectrum Hemp Oil also contains useful plant compounds called terpenes and flavonoids that act holistically with phytocannabinoids in the body – further strengthening the benefits of Veritas Farms’ Full Spectrum Hemp Oil.
Hemp seed oil is made by pressing hemp seeds together until the oil within them excretes. This method of extraction is similar to how olive and coconut oil is obtained. There is even a hemp protein powder made from hemps seeds as well.
Hemp Oil vs. CBD Oil: What’s the Difference?
If you are wondering what the difference is here, not to worry, you are not alone.
Although these terms are sometimes used interchangeably, they are different products that are used and consumed in their own way. They are both derived from the Cannabis sativa plant, but they are different based on the levels of THC embedded in the plant.
Hemp oil contains low levels of cannabinoids including the two most commonly known: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). Hemp oil is extracted from the leaves, petals and seeds from a hemp plant.
Yet, Cannabis sativa plants have different levels of THC and that is a major factor in defining hemp oil versus CBD oil. Basically, any cannabis sativa plant that contains more than 0.3% of THC is considered to be marijuana. Anything less than 0.3% THC is considered hemp.
CBD oil refers to oil that contains a concentration of CBD, or cannabidiol.
The important thing to keep in mind when thinking about hemp oil vs CBD oil is that even though CBD oil sometimes is extracted from hemp plants, it can also be extracted from other cannabis plants that contain higher levels of THC.
What both CBD oil and hemp oil do have in common is neither is linked to THC and therefore won’t provide that psychological “high” so often attributed to THC.
How Does Hemp Oil Work?
It’s all about the balance. The human body is self- regulating, constantly shifting to keep balanced and healthy. This process is called homeostasis. One way our bodies maintain homeostasis is through the Endocannabinoid System or ECS.
The ECS is a large system of neuro-transmitters in the human body. It is made up of a network of receptors throughout our brain, central nervous system, organs and glands. This network regulates a variety of processes including sleep, relaxation, cognition and recovery.
Our bodies naturally produce compounds called endocannabinoids that bind to ECS receptors. When our bodies are deficient in these endocannabinoids, we may experience negative effects as a result of the imbalance in our homeostasis.
Some plants produce phytocannabinoids (plant-based cannabinoids) that can help offset endocannabinoid deficiency. The cannabinoids in Veritas Farms Full Spectrum Hemp Oil interact with our endocannabinoid system, stimulating it to ensure our body is in a state of homeostasis.
In short, a small amount of THC is necessary to maximize the benefits of full spectrum hemp oil. This small amount of THC is nowhere near enough to cause any psychoactive effects and is the federally legal amount allowed by the DEA and FDA in hemp products.
Veritas Farms Hemp Oil
Full Spectrum:
All the good things you get from hemp come from hundreds of naturally occurring compounds and nutrients working together. When these compounds are combined as nature intended, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
This is called the Entourage Effect because different compounds amplify each other’s effects. This is why full spectrum CBD hemp oil is considered more effective than isolated, single-molecule components.
Farm-To-Home:
Veritas Farms full spectrum hemp oil is 100% grown, extracted, formulated, manufactured and bottled right on our farm in Colorado. Don’t settle for anything less!
