# 6 Bran Muffins
Most bran muffins sold at restaurants and in stores may have between 350 to 500 calories of pure fat and sugar, and offer very little nutritional value. Some bran muffins that are made with oil and butter have large amounts of saturated fat that carry other health risks.
Some muffins have excess sodium of up to 600 milligrams per muffin. That is around a third of the advised daily amount. Once again, make sure you read the nutritional info before buying any food. This is a food item you would be better off making at home from scratch with a healthier recipe.
