# 1 Cereal
About 31% of Americans start their day with cereal for breakfast. A good number of cereals, including the self-proclaimed healthy ones aren’t nutritious at all. For example, healthy looking cereals like Raisin Bran, Honey Nut Cheerios and Cascade Granola contain just as much sugar, if not more, as Fruity Pebbles.
Many of the original vitamins and minerals are destroyed during the manufacturing process. Because of this, companies add synthetic ingredients to fortify the cereal. It pays to spend a little more time comparing cereals so you make the right choice.
