#9 Yogurt
Many fat-free and low-fat yogurts contain sugar, starch and high-fructose corn syrup. Some yogurts even have artificial sweeteners and have as much sugar as a candy bar. Avoid yogurt with fruit already mixed in it because the fruit is coated with sugar.
Instead of buying fruit yogurt, buy plain yogurt and sweeten it with berries or some other kind of fruit. You can add a ½ teaspoon of real maple syrup or honey if you need it to be a little sweeter. This is still sugar, but at least you can control the amount of sugar you are eating. Compare yogurt nutrition facts labels and ingredient lists to find the healthiest yogurt.
