If you write everything down you have actual data to compare. Also, it is fun to look at for your own personal progress and fitness goals. You want to make sure you are doing things such as compound lifts, eating the right things as well as the right amount of food, etc.
Are you eating often enough? Your metabolism is a big factor when measuring your gains as well. As important as it is to eat the right amount, your meal times are as if not more important. There are other little details that are very important, such as your post workout meal window. This is the time that your body is craving protein and can be a major downfall to many people who are looking for gains.
Do you have healthy but calorie dense snacks available when you get a craving?
You should never be hungry or hear your stomach growling due to lack of food! You also have to make sure you are giving your body the proper rest recovery time. If you body doesn’t have time to recover you will never see gains! It is a very crucial part of working out that many people miss or mess up. When you do workout though you need to make sure you are pushing yourself as much as you can. Making sure you are maintaining proper form during your workouts and do not get lazy!
