Just about every state election around the country you can count on two things: political advertisements taking over your television and proponents looking to pass recreational marijuana. Over half the states in the country now allow for medicinal use of the plant. Today we will look at CBD oil workout benefits and see if it something you should consider.
In addition to this, a number of states have approved marijuana use for recreational use, with a new state jumping on the bandwagon seemingly every election. With the addition of marijuana to recreational use, a number of marijuana-derived products have become available and designed for just about everything, including your workout.
CBD oil is one such object that many are raving about with regards to their fitness results and CBD weight lifting in general.
But are there real CBD oil workout benefits, and if so, it really something you need to consider?

When you workout, you tear your muscle fiber. It rips and damages and needs to be repaired. You consume protein, which is delivered to your muscles through the bloodstream.

The extraction process for CBD oil is not created equal from one brand to the next. So first, it is important to look on the product label for the ingredients. If there are a number of random ingredients, chances are it is a filler product that will do nothing but act like a placebo.
In fact, the Journal of the American Medical Association studied 84 different CBD extracts and found just 31 percent actually contained the amount of CBD it advertised on the model.
This makes finding a product you can work difficult at best (and why you need to do your research and not just buy a random container of CBD oil from the store).
Additionally, you need to consume around 1,000 milligrams per day in order to net the kind of desirable benefit you want from the product. Chances are, the 1,000 milligrams is more than a single serving. In states where marijuana is illegal, it likely will increase the 0.3 percent THC level by several percentage points.
It is important to look at the price tag as well. If the oil cannister costs only a few dollars it likely doesn’t have any of the authentically extracted, pure CBD oil. In fact, according to U.S. News (2018), a container that does contain actual CBD oil will likely cost you $200 on up.
A Natural Option
There are a number of options out there when it comes to fighting inflammation after a workout. Some individuals pop ibuprofen in order to help with this inflammation.
However, continually taking the over the counter pain medication does come with several drawbacks.
First, the body becomes accustomed to it in the system, so if you suffer from a headache or another ache popping another ibuprofen will not have the same kind of impact, which means you’ll need to increase your dosage.
Secondly, constantly taking pain medication, even in the OTC form, will impact your liver. Compound this with years of taking the medication and you increase your chance of suffering from liver disease or other liver complications.
So it is best to avoid any kind of medication additions to your diet in order to combat inflammation.
Now, if you’re still on the fence with CBD oil for fighting inflammation there are a number of other healthy, natural options available. Eating fruit such as pineapple, which is high in bromelain, helps combat inflammation. Spices like turmeric and devil’s claw can help fight inflammation as well. Even eggs and fish oil can help fight inflammation. It is important to point out these do not offer the same kind of heightened benefits as CBD oil.
Nobody is pounding away pineapple after pineapple to fight arthritis.
So CBD oil delivers far more in way of inflammation-fighting power. In terms of pure power, few other options currently out there (that are non-steroid or prescription based medications) deliver the kind of inflammation-fighting potential as CBD Oil (Mind Body Green, 2014).
Possible CBD Side Effects
There isn’t much in way of side effects when it comes to CBD Oil. At least nothing all that different than traditional marijuana.
You may experience dizziness, dry mouth, irritability, and you may have an upset stomach.
The best way to avoid some of these issues is to work your way up to the recommended 1,000 milligrams of the oil. If you start off too quickly your system will not know what to do with it, which will lead to the side effects.
By slowly working your way up to the 1,000 milligrams you will curb these possible issues, although you may still suffer from the effects in minor ways. The side effects may also vary depending on the kind of CBD oil you are using. Different marijuana strands affect the body in different ways, so you need to be aware of this.
The side effects you experience from one product may not be the same as another.
Of course, this also depends on whether or not you’re taking a product that has the level of CBD it claims to have (again, do your research before buying anything to avoid buying something that is nothing more a diluted product).

As marijuana legalization continues to pass throughout the country, more and more talk will move to the possible health benefits of the plant and derivatives of it.
So while you’re just hearing about CBD oil now, it will only grow in popularity over the next several years.
Additionally, further research will go into CBD oil to detail the health benefits, including its ability to combat inflammation.
In reality, few other products out there can calm inflammation the way CBD oil can. Yes, you likely are taking other supplements that have some anti-inflammatory properties (if you’re not taking fish oil or krill oil you should be).
However, nothing packs this kind of punch.
By boosting your body’s ability to recover from muscle damage you’ll see improved results at the gym and better muscle growth.
Now, with that said, you need to be careful.
Most of the products out there will not deliver the kind of CBD oil you need. You will want 1,000 milligrams of the oil, and even if the product says it has this amount per serving, there’s a good chance it doesn’t. So you need to put in the time and the research to identify the products that do work for you.
During this research, you’ll likely find the CBD oil that does come with the desired level is costly. You may end up spending thousands of dollars a month on the oil if you take it on a regular basis. That brings up another question: can you afford to add CBD oil to your workout routine? That may be the bigger question than should you.
Of course, you don’t need to consume the oil on a daily basis.
Instead, you may find you are better off taking it following certain activities and before specific events.
Perhaps you have a big tournament or event coming up and you want to avoid any kind of inflammation. If that’s the case, it might be right to take it (just make sure to look into the regulations of the event, because there is a chance THC might show up in any kind of urine analysis as the amount you take will most likely be a few percentage points).
So in reality, it all comes down to researching out the right product, determining if you can afford to take the best quality product and if you’re able to consume CBD oil that contains a few percentage points of THC prior to an event.
As long as you check off all the boxes, you may just find that CBD oil is one of the best additions to your workout and supplement routine.
There are CBD oil workouts benefits to take advantage of with regards to the product. Whether you decide to add it to your fitness regimen or not though remains up to you.
First, make sure cannabis edibles and oils are legal in your state. You don’t want to put yourself in potential legal trouble by consuming any marijuana-based product. You also need to know what your job requirements are. If your job conducts regular drug screens that test for marijuana you should avoid it as well.
However, as long as everything is in the clear, by all means, go ahead and test out CBD oils.
While not right for everyone, you may find it is right for you.
